Flums - Bartholet Maschinenbau AG from the canton of St.Gallen is supplying four new gondola ropeways to the exclusive winter sports resort of Krasnaya Polyana in the Russian city of Sochi. The 73 panoramic cabins can transport 2,000 people per hour. The ropeways are set to open in 2023.

The owners of Krasnaya Polyana (in English: the Red Glade), an exclusive winter sports resort on the fringes of the Russian city of Sochi, have ordered four new mono-cable detachable gondola ropeways with 10-person panoramic cabins from Bartholet Maschinenbau AG. The four ropeways will feature a total of 73 gondolas.

Bartholet is based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. The company described this contract as a new record in a press release. The cabins feature a design devloped by Porsche Design Studio. The Sochi-based client, where the 2014 Winter Olympics was held, was impressed by the quality-performance ratio of the products during a visit to Bartholet’s headquarters located in Flums in the canton of St.Gallen.

All four ropeways are located at an altitude if approximately 2,100 meters and can transport around 2,000 people per hour. They are set to be commissioned in time for the start of the 2023 ski season.
