Reinach/Burlington - Endress+Hauser has opened a new client and training center in Canada. The Basel-based measurement technology specialist has invested 20 million euros in this. The new building has a strong focus on sustainability.

Endress+Hauser has opened a new client and training center in Burlington in the Canadian province of Ontario according to a press release. It spans 4,400 square meters, making it twice as large as the former site. Endress+Hauser has invested a total of 20 million euros in this.

A procedural training facility lies at the heart of the new site. According to Endress+Hauser, this is the second of its type in Canada. Clients can train on the use of measurement equipment at the facility. Furthermore, the new center has a calibration laboratory, a workshop, and around 120 jobs.

According to the press release, the new site is “one of the country’s greenest commercial buildings”. The electricity consumption is covered by more than 800 solar modules on the roof, which are able to generate around 408,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year. Furthermore, a geothermal system has also been installed to harness heat from 50 wells at a depth of 180 meters. Endress+Hauser now aspires to be the first private company to achieve three certificates from the Canada Green Building Council: Net Zero Energy, Zero Carbon Building Standards and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) in Gold.

Endress+Hauser has been active in Canada since 1990 through its own sales company. In addition to the Canadian headquarters in Burlington, it also has locations in Edmonton and Calgary in the province of Alberta.
