Zug/Gostynin - Holcim is acquiring Izolbet, a Polish specialty building solution provider. With this, the cement giant based in Zug plans to strengthen its position in the renovation and thermal insulation markets, among other things. It is also expanding its presence in Poland.

According to a press release, Holcim is acquiring Izolbet, a company with headquarters in the Polish city of Gostynin. It provides specialty building solutions and has four production sites in Poland. According to the information provided, Izolbet has recorded double-digit growth in sales and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBIDTA) over the past three years.

The Zug-based cement company plans to use the acquisition to strengthen its position in the renovation and thermal insulation markets, among other things. The acquisition also supplements Holcim’s most recent investment in a new dry mix production facility in Kraków.

Miljan Gutovic, Region Head for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Holcim, states: “Specialty building solutions have been a key focus for expanding Solutions & Products in Europe, notably with the recent acquisitions of PRB Group in France and PTB-Compaktuna in Belgium. I’m excited to be welcoming all of Izolbet’s employees into the Holcim family to unleash our next chapter of growth together.”
