Zug - The building materials group Holcim is suspending its business activities in Russia. The decision from the Board of Directors follows Holcim’s previous announcement to suspend all capital investments in the Russian market.

The Board of Directors of Holcim has decided to initiate the process to exit the Russian market. According to a press release from the Zug building materials group, this decision is in line with the company’s values to operate in the most responsible manner. It follows an earlier announcement to suspend all capital investments in the Russian market.

The Board expressed its “heartfelt concern about the tragic human suffering unfolding across the region”. Holcim “is fully committed to supporting affected people, families and communities”.

The Board also thanked all colleagues who are mobilizing around the world alongside local non-government organizations to provide shelter, essential goods and medical supplies, as well as volunteering their time.
