Schindellegi – The emergency team at Kühne+Nagel, a logistics company based in the canton of Schwyz, is supporting Ukraine with emergency aid provided by the group amounting to 10 million Swiss francs. It is currently coordinating reliable transport for aid organizations, among other things via a Ukrainian Antonov aircraft, and is setting up warehouses for essential goods.

Kühne+Nagel from Schindellegi is sending emergency aid amounting to 10 million Swiss francs to Ukraine in the form of logistics services. Kühne+Nagel’s Emergency & Relief team in Copenhagen has teamed up with major humanitarian aid organizations to quickly organize the important aid missions covered by this donation.

The largest charter flight to date departed from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates on March 29. A Ukrainian Antonov AN-124, one of the largest cargo aircraft in the world, transported 111 metric tons of relief goods from UNICEF’s warehouse in Dubai to Poland.

Thanks to a long-standing, trusting partnership with UNICEF, this has been set up very quickly according to a quote from CEO Dr. Detlef Trefzger in a press release reporting on the various relief efforts. He adds: “It is symbolic in itself that today we can make one of the largest deliveries of aid to Ukraine with a Ukrainian Antonov airplane. I am grateful to our partners, stakeholders and all our Kuehne+Nagel colleagues who support our pledge to the Ukrainian people.”

According to a press release, the Zug-based asset manager Partners Group has sponsored more than 14 metric tons of medical relief goods for Ukrainian refugees. Local teams from Kühne+Nagel have also gone “above and beyond”. In Barcelona and Italy, colleagues fleeing Ukraine have swiftly received work and accommodation. Proceeds from the fundraising campaign “Colleagues for Colleagues”, which is ongoing at the company’s various locations, will be doubled by Kühne+Nagel.
