Hinwil/Beijing - From its location in Singapore, Ferag will from now on be supplying, installing and servicing mobile robots developed by Geekplus across the Asia-Pacific region. To this end, the Beijing-based firm has entered into a strategic partnership with the intralogistics specialist from the canton of Zurich.

Ferag is including the mobile robots and smart logistics solutions developed by Geekplus in its range. With the two companies having now agreed a strategic partnership, the Singapore-based subsidiary of the Swiss intralogistics specialist will be able to integrate these devices in material flow systems that serve a wide range of different applications.

According to a press release issued by Geekplus, family-owned business Ferag has been recognized as the global market leader in the development, design, and distribution of material flow systems for more than 65 years. Ferag combines this with system integration services, advanced warehouse software and maintenance services. “I am delighted to partner with Geekplus for the sales and implementation of their robotics”, comments Karl Friesenbichler, Managing Director Asia Pacific at Ferag. Some customers - including the Australian department store chain Myer - have already installed Geekplus robots, he adds.

“Our strategic partnership with Ferag has been instrumental in supporting our market growth in the Asia-Pacific region”, explains Lit Fung, Head of International Business at Geekplus, before adding: “We are excited about the prospects of more projects going live as a result of our collaboration with Ferag”.

Ferag is represented in more than 18 countries with its own sales and service companies, employing around 600 people. At its own apprentice workshops located in Switzerland, more than 40 young people are trained over a period of four years. With this display of commitment, the company offers “above-average resources” to promote and support the development of the next generation of qualified specialists in Swiss industry, as Ferag explains on its website. ce/mm
