Leica Geosystems, which is headquartered in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, has proudly announced that its flying laser scanner BLK2FLY has been nominated for the Next Level Award at the pair of construction trade fairs taking place March 14-18, 2023, in Las Vegas, namely the CONEXPO-CON/AGG and the International Fluid Power Exposition (IFPE), further details of which can be found in a press release. The Leica BLK2FLY is among the ten finalists selected by a panel comprising members from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). The selection was based on criteria such as innovative application, versatile usability and sustainable, safe application.
The Leica BLK2FLY is the world’s first fully integrated, autonomously flying laser scanning sensor. With just a few simple taps on a tablet, users can completely and accurately scan structures and surroundings from the air within an incredibly short space of time. Airborne scanning is of benefit to many industries where there is a need for accurate data pertaining to inaccessible or hard-to-reach areas, such as eaves or rooftops. It ensures a complete understanding of the exterior features and dimensions of a building.
The CONEXPO-CON/AGG is North America’s largest construction trade fair. It is held every three years in parallel with the International Fluid Power Exposition (IFPE), which is the leading exhibition in the areas of fluid power, power transmission and motion control in North America. ww
