Baar/Kaba - The MET Group from the canton of Zug has started construction work on the Kaba 2 solar power plant in Eastern Hungary. This is the energy company’s seventh photovoltaic project and is set to be operational in the second half of 2024. It is an extension of the MET Kabai Solar Park, which was completed in 2021.

The MET Group is constructing another solar park in Hungary. The project is located in Kaba, a town located around 200 kilometers east of the capital city Budapest near to the Romanian border. The 23 MWp photovoltaic plant will cover an area of more than 32 hectares, where more than 33,000 solar panels are to be installed, further details of which can be found in a press release.

According to the information, construction work is now underway on this project, which has come about as the result of an in-house greenfield project. This was initiated following the commissioning of the MET Kabai Solar Park in 2021. It is the seventh photovoltaic project of the MET Group, with commercial operations set to commence in the second half of this year.

As the company explains further, the construction of Kaba 2 is also being supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI). This technology will help the project management team to monitor the work in progress during construction, with software used to analyze the visual data captured by drones covering all aspects of the construction project. This includes, for example, compliance with design execution and timeline, which should serve to prevent errors and generate efficiency gains. ce/mm
