Modulos is offering live demonstrations of its new responsible AI platform at GITEX Global in Dubai from October 16 to 20. The CEO of the spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), Kevin Schawinski, commented in a press release: “We are helping companies to develop AI products and services in a new, regulated environment.” The company is based at Technopark Zürich and is a member of the the ETH AI Center.
The platform supports companies with bringing their corporate goals in line with the complex, extensive regulatory framework conditions of different countries, the United Arab Emirates, and the European Union. In addition, it simplifies compliance with internal operational guidelines. According to information provided by the company, it offers high scalability and reusability for different applications and projects.
According to the press release, Modulos strives to support organizations in the Middle East and Africa with exporting high-quality products and services to Europe corresponding to the highest standards regarding responsible AI. In turn, European companies will benefit from a control framework that has been specifically developed for compliance with developing local regulations.
According to Modulos, the urgency of these solutions illustrates the EU’s new AI legislation, which is expected to be adopted at the start of 2024. It pursues a risk-based approach and focuses on the protection of civil and consumer rights. Companies not meeting the requirements will have to pay penalties amounting to up to 7 percent of their global sales. ce/mm
