Sika acquires Kwik Bond Polymers

Baar/Benicia - Sika is acquiring Kwik Bond Polymers, a California-based company specializing in the refurbishment of bridge decks. Its polymer technologies will complement Sika’s systems for the refurbishment of concrete structures.

Specialist chemical company Sika from the canton of Zug has acquired Kwik Bond Polymers (KBP), based in the Californian city of Benicia, according to a press release. KBP has specialized in the refurbishment of bridge decks for over 30 years. Its polymer technologies offer long-lasting protection for bridge decks and other concrete infrastructures.  

“Their well-recognized expertise in the USA and their impressive track record of long-lasting refurbishment projects fit Sika’s culture perfectly,” says Mike Champion, Regional Manager Americas. “By preserving and extending the service life of our concrete infrastructure, we deliver outstanding customer value and significant sustainability benefits to the construction industry.” 

As well as its headquarters near San Francisco, KBP has additional production and warehousing facilities near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This acquisition will enable Sika to boost its footprint and expertise, enhancing its supply chains and service to customers. ce/js
