Nine Swiss companies win Sino-Swiss Business Awards

Beijing - The Sino-Swiss Business Awards (SSBA) have been presented in Beijing. A total of nine large companies and SMEs based in Switzerland were recognized.

The Sino-Swiss Business Awards (SSBA) were presented in Beijing on October 26. According to a press release, nine companies received the Swissnex Innovation Pioneer Award, which is divided into three categories: start-ups, multinational concerns and SMEs.  The press release explains that Swissnex in China uses the Swissnex Innovation Pioneer Awards to honor the outstanding achievements of Swiss innovators who have made a mark in China with their impactful solutions. The awards also foster exchanges and potential collaborations in the Sino-Swiss business community.

The Sino-Swiss Business Awards are organized every two years by SwissCham China, in cooperation with the Swiss embassy.

Among the concerns, Hitachi Energy, which has its Swiss base in Baden, canton of Aargau; Leica Geosystems in Heerbrugg, canton of St.Gallen; and Micro Mobility in Küsnacht, canton of Zurich received awards this year. In the SME category, Dätwyler Group in Altdorf, canton of Uri, took first place; followed by Cellcosmet in Le Mont-sur-Lausanne, canton of Vaud; and Condair Group in Pfäffikon, canton of Schwyz.

Among the small companies and start-ups, the biotech start-up Roumai Medical from Lausanne took the top spot, with Schlieren-based rqmicro from the canton of Zurich, which specializes in water analysis, in second place and Diaxxo, a medical device manufacturer from Zurich, in third.

According to the press release, the Innovation Pioneer Awards recognize Swiss companies and start-ups that display exceptional innovation in their products, services or business processes, set new standards, and push boundaries. ce/gba
