Zurich/Toronto - Zurich Insurance Group has entered into a partnership with the cyber insurance provider BOXX. Together, the two companies hope to offer a package of risk solutions in the field of cyber security.

Zurich Insurance and BOXX Insurance, which is based in Toronto, Ontario, have agreed on a strategic collaboration. According to a press release, together with the Canadian cyber insurance specialist, Zurich Insurance plans to bring a joint package to market. This will offer risk solutions for the digital protection of individuals and families. The two companies have developed a joint app for this that is able to recognize and combat digital threats and fraud more easily. The service is available in Switzerland and will be offered in German, French, Italian, and English.

Vishal Kundi, CEO and Founder of BOXX Insurance, commented in the press release: “We created this to give individuals and families what they want – an app that delivers an essential bundle of tools at users’ fingertips including access to experts in the event of a cyber emergency.” He stated that smartphones have penetrated every aspect of daily life, adding: “The average person picks their phone up to 100 times a day so if we want to make their world a digitally safer place, we have to ensure their phone and their usage is better secured.”

René Harlacher, Chief Underwriting Officer at Zurich Insurance in Switzerland stated: “At Zurich, it's our mission to go beyond mere protection, and also offer our customers tools to help them build resilience and implement preventative measures against cyber risks. Based on these facts, we are expanding our cyber offering for private individuals so that we can provide them with support before, during and after a possible cyber-attack. This is exactly where our joint offering with BOXX Insurance comes in, as a way to lend additional support to our customers.” ce/ww
