Geneva/Dubai - Deasyl Swiss from Geneva and the Dubai-based Lootah Biofuels have entered into a strategic partnership. Their collaboration will aim to drive the development of low-carbon biofuels and methods to utilize glycerin.

At ADIPEC 2023, the world’s largest energy industry event held in Abu Dhabi, Deasyl Swiss and Lootah Biofuels have announced that they will enter a strategic partnership together. The two companies have signed a corresponding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which, according to a press release, marks the first step in the direction of establishing a joint venture.

Deasyl identifies, develops and licenses novel chemicals and chemical processes that offer an alternative to environmentally harmful processes. These are used by large petrochemical and fine chemical companies. Lootah Biofuels specializes in the production of biofuels developed on the basis of cooking oil.

The partnership between the two companies is aimed at driving the development of low-carbon biofuels and the utilization of glycerin. In this context, the expertise and patented solutions of Deasyl will play a core role, the press release explains.

Yousif bin Saeed Lootah, CEO of Lootah Biofuels, highlighted the shared mission to promote high-quality, low-carbon biofuels, all the while cutting greenhouse gas emissions and meeting growing demand for sustainable energy sources. “This partnership is a strong alliance with the potential to reduce environmental impacts and accelerate the transition to a sustainable ecosystem”, concludes Deasyl-CEO Julien Thiel. ce/mm
