Sonja Wollkopf Walt named Location Manager of the Year

Sonja Wollkopf Walt has been named as Location Manager of the Year. As the Greater Zurich Area (GZA) has now announced, the Swiss Association for Location Management (SVSM) has honored the GZA Managing Director with this award in recognition of her dedicated service to the agency. Sonja Wollkopf Walt has worked for the investment promotion agency GZA since its establishment in 1999. She joined the management board in 2002, before being named Managing Director in 2010. The qualified lawyer has also presided over the Management Board of TIE International since 2019 in addition to sitting on the board of ti&m since 2023.

Sonja Wollkopf Walt accepted the award on behalf of her entire team at an SVSM event in Olten in the canton of Solothurn. “This award confirms our approach of identifying world-leading companies, technologies, talent and networks, connecting them with local players and supporting their integration in ecosystems throughout our economic area”, as she explains in the press release, adding that: “In this way, we create sustainable added value for our society”.

Balz Hösly, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GZA, also sees this award as praise for Sonja Wollkopf Walt’s management style. “Being named as Location Manager of the Year is well-deserved recognition for her achievements in the area of location marketing, but also for her inclusive leadership style, which has allowed her, alongside her team, to achieve tangible success for our economic area”.

The SVSM has presented this award since 2009 to location managers with a nationwide profile. ce/stk
