Fällanden/Wallisellen - The Bruker Corporation is the new majority shareholder in MIRO Analytical. The start-up supplies its customers operating in the field of atmospheric research and industrial enterprises with multi-gas analyzers to evaluate air pollution and the presence of greenhouse gases.

MIRO Analytical from Wallisellen in the canton of Zurich is now majority-owned by the Bruker Corporation, further details of which can be found in a press release. The company, which is headquartered in the US State of Massachusetts and operates a Swiss location in Fällanden in the canton of Zurich, is supplementing its gas analysis spectroscopy portfolio with the fast, mobile and high-precision multi-gas analyzers from MIRO. The trace gas analyzers developed by MIRO are based on quantum cascade lasers, which have the capacity to measure up to ten trace gases simultaneously with a sensitivity in the parts per thousand (ppt) range. These are used for atmospheric research and industry applications.

MIRO was founded in 2018 as a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). In 2022, the start-up was awarded a coveted Innosuisse Certificate. This attests to the fact that MIRO achieved notable progress during the promotional agency’s coaching process and is ready for sustainable growth. The certificate is intended to make start-ups more attractive to investors.

MIRO customers include leading climate scientists from research institutes such as the German Space Agency, the Jülich Research Center and the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment. These organizations deploy the multi-gas analyzers developed by MIRO in mobile laboratories installed in aircraft and vehicles, remote research stations and for laboratory experiments.

“MIRO and Bruker together are a perfect fit”, comments Dr. Morten Hundt, CEO of MIRO. “Together, we will deliver significant benefits and application insights to our customers in the environmental, climate research and industrial markets”, he concludes. ce/mm
