CARE, a medical service provider based in Winterthur, is striving to expand its activities in the USA. To this end, the start-up has brought on board Kevin Fiala, the professional ice hockey player who plays for the Los Angeles Kings in the North American National Hockey League (NHL), as an investor and brand ambassador, further details of which can be found in a press release. After Yann Sommer, the goalkeeper for the Swiss national soccer team, Fiala is the second elite athlete to support the evidence-based preventative medicine approach pursued by CARE.
The start-up, which was founded in 2022, aims to offer modern health prophylaxis ranging from check-ups to personal recommendations. Doctors, lab technicians and therapists create an up-to-date health profile and develop a program to improve the patient’s health. Examinations and the program are subject to a fee, while annual memberships can also be taken out with CARE. In the first six months of 2023, CARE recorded sales of 1 million Swiss francs overall.
“Kevin Fiala is a perfect fit for CARE as he uniquely combines our Swiss roots with the US market”, comments CARE founding Investor Ertan Wittwer in the press release, adding that: “We are thrilled to have Kevin on board as an investor and ambassador and look forward to working with him on our expansion to the USA”.
“I’m proud to be part of the CARE success story as an investor”, Kevin Fiala comments. “For me personally, CARE is a real game changer because it allows me to take control of my health and be proactive. It tells me exactly where I need to make improvements. And that is the key to a healthier life”, he concludes. ce/ww
