Yverdon-les-Bains - Ecorobotix is entering the North America market by establishing its subsidiary Ecorobotix Inc. The company’s ARA field sprayer uses Artificial Intelligence to cut the use of pesticides by up to 95 percent. Ecorobotix will be presenting its product at several trade fairs in the USA over the coming weeks.

Ecorobotix is set to launch its ARA field sprayer in the USA. To this end, the AgTech start-up based in Yverdon-les-Bains in the canton of Vaud has founded the subsidiary Ecorobotix Inc. to serve the North American market and is currently in the process of hiring staff. The “unique technology” of the UHP (ultra-high-precision) sprayer and the plant-by-plant software based on Artificial Intelligence will transform agriculture, Ecorobotix claims in a press release.

In less than 250 milliseconds, this dynamic system is able to scan the field, capture real-time imagery and identify the crops or weeds that the farmer wants to treat, before executing a precise spray area of 2.4 by 2.4 inches (or 6 centimeters) that ensures minimal drift. According to Ecorobotix, this helps to cut the use of pesticides by up to 95 percent.

Ecorobotix’s first steps on the North American market were heralded with its membership of the Western Growers Association in California. During Farm Tech Days 2023 in Wisconsin, the ARA was presented for the first time in the USA in cooperation with Edney Distributing, with the technology then also showcased at the Farm Progress Show in Illinois. Moreover, the company is set to make its first appearance at FIRA, hosted by the city of Salinas, California, during which field demonstrations of the ARA will also be carried out.

“Expanding to the US is a significant milestone for our company. We are eager to witness our innovative technology making a positive impact on agriculture worldwide”, comments Aurelien G. Demaurex, co-founder of Ecorobotix, in the press release. In May of this year, Ecorobotix sold its first ARA field sprayer in Canada, after having also established a foothold in the South American market in March. ce/mm
