Weinfelden/Biłgoraj - Model’s first plant in Poland celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Since it was established, the packaging manufacturer has invested over 56 million Swiss francs in Poland. Construction of three more halls and an office building began in 2022.

Model Opakowania is celebrating 25 years since the company was founded this year. It was the first Polish plant of the Model Group Switzerland with headquarters in Weinfelden in the canton of Thurgau and went into operation in the town of Biłgoraj in south-eastern Poland on 6 January 1998. At that time, the packaging factory had a production hall equipped with two processing machines and the company employed 48 people. According to the company press release, nearly 5.5 billion packages have been sold to date.

Now, Model has two other production plants in the country, Czosnów and Nowa Sól, alongside Model Opakowania in Biłgoraj. They deliver packaging not only in Poland, but also to Slovakia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Germany, France and Scandinavia.

Model reports that it has allocated investments totaling the equivalent of over 56 million francs into the plant since it was established. This has been used to invest in machinery, infrastructure as well as projects in the field of environmental protection and improving work comfort. “25 years of our company represent a continuous development curve,” said Krzysztof Jażdżyk, President of the Management Board of Model Opakowania. “The changes are visible in all areas of the company’s activity.”

In 2022, the construction of three more halls and a modern office building began, developing approximately 15,000 sqm. At the same time, 10,000 sq m will be allocated for roads, squares and technical infrastructure. Last year, Model Opakowania won accolades including the Forbes Diamond and the title of second best employer in Poland in the Forbes ranking. mm
