Health Innovation Hub drives medical innovation

St.Gallen - Switzerland Innovation Park East has opened its Health Innovation Hub in St.Gallen. The hub serves as a platform for initiating, promoting and accelerating innovations in the healthcare sector.

Switzerland Innovation Park East, based in St.Gallen, has opened its Health Innovation Hub. According to a statement, the hub provides a platform for initiating, promoting and accelerating innovations in the healthcare sector. It focuses on areas such as wearables, health monitoring and disease prevention. Digital technologies and sata analysis in particular could play a central role in the healthcare sector, said healthcare expert and entrepreneur Tobias Gantner in his speech at the opening of the hub. „Data can heal,“ he emphasized. 

The hub will also organize regular events and workshops. The aim is to develop solutions to challenges and bring them to the market. “We are currently putting together a research council to ensure the impact of these activities,” René Rossi, head of the research focus Health and the Materials meet Life department at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa).

Beat Tinner, member of the St.Gallen cantonal government, has high expectations of the new platform. “The Health Innovation Hub will make a significant contribution to promoting innovative solutions in the healthcare sector and further strengthen Switzerland as a leading location for medical innovation,” he said.  

Maria Pappa highlighted the close relationship between key players in the city. “I am proud that we have created a place here in St.Gallen that promotes interdisciplinary collaboration between research, industry and healthcare,” said the Mayor of St.Gallen. “In this way, today's complex challenges in the healthcare sector can be mastered together in the interests of people.” ce/stk
