Zug - The cement specialists Holcim have acquired 13 sand and aggregates quarries in the USA. These previously belonged to Pioneer Landscape Centers, a market leader in the cities of Denver, Phoenix and Colorado Springs. Holcim is now targeting growth in these locations.

Holcim has acquired a total of 13 sand and aggregates quarries from Pioneer Landscape Centers, which operates in the US States of Arizona and Colorado. With this transaction, Holcim is seeking to strengthen its footprint around the locations of the major construction aggregates supplier in the Denver region, Phoenix and Colorado Springs, further details of which can be found in a press release.

According to information from the company, the acquisitions will support Holcim’s growth in the region, which contains several rapidly growing metropolitan markets, over several decades. “This transaction delivers significant synergies for our wider ready-mix concrete business”, explains Toufic Tabbara, Region Head North America at Holcim, in the press release. “Given the strong growth expected in the region, we’re thrilled to make acquisitions that anticipate our customers’ needs”, he adds.

This additional business in the USA is part of Holcim’s “Strategy 2025 – Accelerating Green Growth”. These bolt-on acquisitions are designed to further drive the company’s growth in the aggregates and ready-mix concrete business areas. mm
