Zug/Cuautitlán - Holcim is acquiring the Mexican company PASA, a leading manufacturer of roofing and waterproofing solutions in Mexico and Central America. By integrating the company into its own supply chain, Holcim aims to further penetrate attractive segments of the construction industry.

The building materials manufacturer Holcim is acquiring PASA, a company based near Mexico City that specializes in roofing and leads the field in Central America and Mexico, according to a statement. PASA’s sales amount to 38 million US dollars. The acquisition includes all 250 PASA employees.

PASA's distribution network will be integrated with the waterproofing solutions from the company's GacoFlex product range. This will enhance Holcim's supply chain, writes the statement.

“By acquiring PASA we are further expanding our Solutions & Products business to become a leader in roofing systems in Latin America,” commented Oliver Osswald, Region Head Latin America at Holcim. “It enables us to deliver more value for our customers from an innovation, performance and sustainability perspective.”

With this acquisition, Holcim is advancing its “Strategy 2025 - Accelerating Green Growth”. The goal is to expand its Solutions & Products business to 30 per cent of Group net sales by 2025. The company also intends to enter “the most attractive segments of construction, from roofing systems to insulation and renovation”. ce/mm
