Huawei launches platform for Swiss entrepreneurs
22 February 2023 10:45
The technology manufacturer Huawei is supporting 100 students to make the transition from university to management through its interactive development program Digital Seeds. According to a press release, students will learn entrepreneurial thought and action by means of exchanges with business leaders. Students at Swiss universities can apply for the first time.
In addition to a university qualification, those keen to shape the digital future must demonstrate problem-solving expertise, analytical thinking and digital creativity. Hard and soft skills for creating their own business models will be conveyed through various formats, including round tables, EXEC briefings, ideathons and pitch rounds.
The business plans will be assessed by a jury. The three best teams shall then be invited on an experience exchange in China, where they will gain insights into the country’s culture of innovation through interactions with technology companies and startups. Huawei is confident this will nurture a “shared entrepreneurial spirit in the next transnational tech generation”. Huawei’s Group headquarters are in Shenzhen, China, while its Swiss headquarters are in Liebefeld in the canton of Bern.
The Digital Seeds initiative is being launched in the German-speaking countries as part of the global Seeds for Future program, through which Huawei aims to develop skilled young ICT talent. The goal is to create “an exclusive network of young leaders and changemakers”.
Applications can be submitted online until the end of March. Participation fees will be covered by Huawei. heg
