Carouge - The chips developed by ID Quantique, an expert in the field of encryption services, were recently awarded an international certification that confirms the highest-possible level of security and robustness in the generation of random bits. This is key for their use in crypto modules, for example.

The Geneva-based supplier of quantum cyber security services ID Quantique (IDQ) guarantees an incredibly high level of data protection for governments, businesses and individuals and, to this end, recently started using a certified random number generator (RNG), further details of which can be found in a press release. As such, IDQ is the first company to receive ESV certification with a quantum-based entropy source and IID estimation track, the press release explains. This is the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP) of the US-based National Institute of Standards (NIST).

According to IDQ, this certification offers the highest possible level of security and robustness when generating random bits. IDQ solutions are therefore said to be ideally suited to all security applications and for integration in devices used by the automotive industry, as well as those for IT, critical infrastructure, Internet of Things, mobile communications and space communications applications, where the strictest security requirements must be complied with.

IDQ secures the mission-critical networks of its customers around the world by using its Clarion KX Key Management Suite in combination with Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). Since 2007, IDQ has been commercializing QKD systems. The current XG series is the fourth generation of systems to be launched that offers a full range of solutions for both metro and backbone networks. The XG series is more compact and can be connected to most encryption solutions from major providers without any issues, including Nokia, Ciena, Cisco, Thales, Juniper and Fortinet.

IDQ is set to showcase its range of solutions for 2023 at GITEX GLOBAL, one of the world’s largest tech trade fairs that is taking place October 16-20 in Dubai. ce/yvh
