Dübendorf/Visp - Loft Dynamics, the specialist for flight simulators powered by Virtual Reality, is entering into a partnership with the aircraft manufacturer Dufour Aerospace. Together, the two partners will strive to develop a flight simulator for electric VTOL aircraft.

Loft Dynamics, the specialist for flight simulators powered by Virtual Reality (VR) based in Dübendorf in the canton of Zurich, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Dufour Aerospace, which is a developer of tilt-wing aircraft from Visp in the canton of Valais. As detailed in a press release, the two companies intend to manufacture a flight simulator for the Aero 3, an eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft built by Dufour. To this end, the VR simulator with regulatory approval developed by Loft Dynamics will serve as the blueprint for this development. The product of this partnership, the Aero3 VR eVTOL simulator, is expected to be available on the market at the start of 2025.

With this development, the two companies are seeking to satisfy strong demand for eVTOL aircraft. The commissioning of the simulator should also serve to counteract the existing shortage of eVTOL pilots in addition to training additional numbers of pilots.

“Our partnership with Dufour Aerospace represents a big stride forward in training a wider range of pilots at a time when operators need it most. It also lays groundwork for the eventual certification of our eVTOL simulator”, comments Fabi Riesen, founder and CEO of Loft Dynamics, in the press release.

Thomas Pfammatter, founder and CEO of Dufour, who has flown more than 4,500 missions as an Air Zermatt helicopter rescue pilot, explains in the press release that the Loft Dynamics flight simulator is “by far the most realistic simulator I have ever flown”. ce/eb
