Seon/Portland - Mammut and Unless Collective have designed a limited edition collection of sustainable hoodies and t-shirts. The profits from sales of the products will be donated to Protect our Winters Switzerland. This is the second collaboration between the Aargau-based mountaineering equipment firm and the US streetwear label.

The Mammut Sports Group AG and Unless Collective, a textiles brand based in Portland, Oregon, have designed a collection of biodegradable hoodies and t-shirts to mark International Mountain Day. The proceeds from the sales of the limited edition range will go towards the charitable organization Protect Our Winters Switzerland, as Mammut writes in a press release. The new collection is the second collaboration between the mountaineering equipment firm based in Seon in the canton of Aargau and the US streetwear label.

All components of Unless Collective textiles, including yarn, label and print, are completely biodegradable. “The Mountains are our playground, and we are committed to protecting them”, comments Paul Cosgrove, Chief Product Officer at Mammut, in the press release. “We are excited to partner with Unless Collective to create this limited edition to celebrate International Mountain Day”, he adds.

The images used on the textiles were designed by Swiss artist Moreno Morger and depict a colorful mountain scene. On closer inspection, however, the damaging influence of human activities on the mountain ecosystem becomes clear. With this collaboration, the partners are seeking to “draw attention to the importance of mountain ecosystems and our role to protect them”, the press release explains. Eric Liedtke, CEO of Unless Collective, adds that he is convinced that “fashion can be a force for good”. ce/hs
