maxon has been recognized with the Gallatin Award given by the Swiss Embassy in the U.S. The award was presented in Washington D.C. as part of this year’s Soirée Suisse event, in front of over 1,000 guests including members of congress, CEOs from Swiss and U.S. multinational companies, and many other members of the business community who, according to a press release, honor the Swiss-American relationship.
The Swiss Ambassador to the U.S., Jacques Pitteloud, described maxon’s humble beginnings as a small company in the Swiss Alps, making foils for electric razors. Thanks to its creativity and innovative approach, maxon developed into a company that designs and manufactures precision technologies used in wearable insulin pumps and Mars rovers – showing how innovative Swiss ideas can be found across all industries. Pitteloud also emphasized that the family-owned company brings excellent engineering expertise and creative ingenuity to Swiss-American relations and is creating new opportunities for high-level collaboration.
Chris Blake, CEO of maxon USA, accepted the award and said: “Mr Ambassador, on behalf of the Braun family and all the global employees, please accept my gratitude for recognizing the achievements we have made in the United States by selecting maxon for the Gallatin Award this year.” He added that maxon was able to perform at this level thanks to a combination of technologies developed in Switzerland, innovative ideas, outstanding employees and a vibrant U.S. economy. maxon employs around 3,000 staff at nine production sites around the world and has distribution companies in over 30 countries. ce/mm
