Phoenix Mecano inaugurates site in Jiaxing

Phoenix Mecano inaugurated its new industrial complex in Jiaxing on 8 November, announced the technology group from Stein am Rhein in the canton of Schaffhausen in a statement. The new site southwest of Shanghai will serve as the global headquarters of the DewertOkin Technology Group division. At the site, the group, which specializes in housing technology and industrial components, will manufacture drive, system and hardware technology for electric adjustable comfort and care home furniture. Phoenix Mecano has invested around 100 million euros in the new industrial park.

"The DewertOkin Technology Group is very well established in its target markets as a leading provider of system solutions," commented Rochus Kobler, CEO of the Phoenix Mecano Group, in the statement. "With its global production network, international sales strategy and high level of vertical integration, the DOT Group is in an excellent strategic and operational position." The new industrial complex offers 150,000 square meters of space and a production capacity of 20 million drives for electric adjustable furniture per year.

Phoenix Mecano plans to benefit from the growing business with adjustable comfort and care home furniture. Jiaxing offers the ideal setting “because a technology cluster of companies in the global upholstered furniture industry has formed here”, writes the company. The consolidation of several small production facilities at the new site is intended to make operating processes more efficient. The industrial complex also offers space for further growth. ce/hs
