Pilatus delivers 12 PC-12s to Canadian air ambulance pilots

Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, which is based in Stans in the canton of Nidwalden, has sold 12 aircraft from its PC-12 series to Ornge, an air ambulance organization based in the Canadian province of Ontario. According to a statement, the new aircraft will replace a fleet of eight PC-12 NGs currently in operation with Ornge. Delivery of the modern turboprop aircraft is planned between 2026 and 2030.

“The Pilatus PC-12 has played a significant role in Ontario’s air ambulance program for many years,” commented Dr Homer Tien, President and CEO of Ornge, in the statement. “Its performance, versatility and reliability have helped us deliver high quality care in transport across the province, including many remote Indigenous communities in the north. With the renewal of our fleet, we know that this aircraft will continue to help us save lives and deliver health equity for generations to come.” Ornge operates the largest fleet of air ambulances and intensive care transport vehicles in Canada and performs more than 20,000 patient transports per year.
