Switzerland well represented at GITEX

Dubai - More than a dozen Swiss companies and organizations were exhibiting at this year’s technology trade fair GITEX in Dubai. The SWISS Pavilion was opened by Ambassador Arthur Mattli and Consul General Angelica Schempp.

Arthur Mattli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Consul General Angelica Schempp officially opened the SWISS Pavilion at GITEX in Dubai on October 16. This offers a shop window for Swiss businesses and organizations looking to showcase their innovations at the technology trade fair. The stand has been organized by T-Link and digitalswitzerland in partnership with Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE), the official Swiss consultancy, promotion and platform organization for export and investment promotion.

This year, a total of 13 Swiss exhibitors were represented at the trade fair, including the Zurich-based firms SecurosysTesenso, Swiss-Mile, UpCircleiniVation and Modulos, two representatives from the canton of Zug in the form of IBEXUS and Clean Air Enterprise, the companies csky.ai and ID Quantique from Western Switzerland, Datwyler IT Infra from the canton of Uri, as well as the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) from academic circles. They were showcasing their developments in the fields of cyber security, Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT). According to information from T-Link, Swiss companies were able to generate huge levels of interest throughout the trade fair.

GITEX took place October 16-20. This was the 43rd edition of the event and, according to a press release, is the world’s largest technology trade fair. This year, there were 6,000 exhibitors and 180,000 executives from 180 different countries in attendance. ce/ssp
