SEAS from Lugano in the canton of Ticino now has an opportunity to work with Xylem, a global leader in the area of water technology based in the US capital of Washington D.C., to further develop its proprietary technology, further details of which can be found in a press release. For more than a decade, SEAS has been focused on the development and commercialization of systems that convert water vapor in the air into water. In this context, the company aims to produce water for human consumption as well as for agricultural and industrial applications.
According to the press release, a special feature of the SEAS system is that the large amounts of hot and cold air generated by the system’s condensation process can be integrated in customers’ heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. This helps to drastically reduce energy consumption.
“Investment in water solutions continues to rise as communities and businesses around the world face up to ever greater challenges in connection with climate change”, as Kyle Schoenheit, Innovation Manager in Xylem’s global innovation team at Xylem Innovation Labs, explains in the press release. “An alternative water supply is part of this equation,” he adds. With SEAS, Xylem is seeking to advance “this important work” as part of its first commercial acceleration program.
“The partnership with Xylem represents an important milestone in the growth of our company”, comments Lawrence G. Graev, a founding partner of SEAS, who adds that his team is looking forward to the opportunity to jointly develop exciting projects. In addition to its headquarters in Lugano, SEAS also has offices located in Abu Dhabi and New York. Its sales network stretches from Australia, Vietnam and the Maldives to India, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. ce/mm
