Zug - SEBA Bank has been renamed AMINA Bank. The name represents a new era of growth for the bank as an established player within the crypto banking space. In 2024, AMINA Bank will primarily look to drive growth at its locations in Zug, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong.

The Zug-based crypto bank SEBA will from now on be known as AMINA Bank. According to a press release, the new name comes from the English term ‘transAMINAtion’ to symbolize the transference of one compound to another. AMINA is a brand driven by perpetual change that unites the traditional banking business with the crypto banking space, the press release states.

“Our brand signifies a new era in the company’s growth and strategy; we are a key player in crypto banking and are here to define the future of finance”, comments Franz Bergmüller, CEO of AMINA, in the press release. In terms of its growth, the bank intends to focus on its three locations in Zug, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong over the next 12 months.

SEBA Bank was founded in Zug in 2018, before becoming the first Swiss crypto financial institute to be licensed by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) in 2019. The branch offices based in Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong were added at a later date. In the past few months, the Hong Kong office has secured a license from the local supervisory authority. ce/ssp
