Zug-based investment management company SUSI Partners, which invests in infrastructure for the global energy transition, has entered into a long-term partnership with Munich project developers BayWa r.e., according to a press release. The two companies plan to contribute to developing South East Asia’s energy infrastructure.
Working with BayWa r.e., a global renewables developer based in Munich, SUSI Partners plans to develop, construct and operate photovoltaic projects for the commercial and industrial sectors in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. The partnership will focus on large-scale projects with capacities of up to 20 megawatts peak.
Revenue from the combined business will be secured with long-term electricity offtake agreements with well-established corporations. The agreement between the two companies, which have been working together in the European market for many years, was negotiated by the SUSI Partners Asia Energy Transition Fund (SAETF).
The transaction further expands SAETF's energy infrastructure portfolio. It now comprises five portfolio companies operating in utility-scale renewable energy generation, energy efficiency and solar projects for commercial and industrial customers. ce/ww
