Zurich/Buchs/Seattle - The US venture capital firm DiamondStream Partners has led a financing round for SwissDrones. With this fresh capital, the manufacturer of inspection and surveillance drones intends to accelerate product development and tap into new markets.

SwissDrones has closed an additional seven-figure financing round, further details of which can be found in a press release. The round was led by DiamondStream Partners, a venture capital firm based in Seattle in the US State of Washington. With this fresh capital injection, the drone manufacturer will seek to accelerate both product development processes and global market launch activities.

According to information from the company itself, DiamondStream Partners supports rough diamonds in the mobility industry that it helps entrepreneurs to “transform into fully cut gems”. These include companies that are directly or indirectly involved in the aviation sector, as well as hardware and software companies. In addition to DiamondStream Partners, existing investors also participated in the financing round.

“We see SwissDrones as leaders in bringing next-generation aviation technology to critical use cases in infrastructure inspection, aerial surveillance and public safety”, comments David Spurlock, Managing Director of DiamondStream Partners, in the press release. The developments will “bring disruptive economics to catalyze growth in these market segments”, he adds.

SwissDrones is headquartered in Zurich with manufacturing activities based in Buchs in the canton of St.Gallen. The team is looking forward to benefiting from the extensive expertise of its new North American partner, according to comments from Ulrich Amberg, CEO of the company founded in 2013. In this context, SwissDrones will look to “transform the way aerial intelligence is gathered in crucial applications worldwide”, Amberg explains in the press release.
