Zurich/Cochrane - Voliro, a company that specializes in the development of drones, has opened the first Voliro Flight Center in North America. This will be operated by the Canadian company Osprey Integrity Ltd in the town of Cochrane in the province of Alberta.

The Zurich-based company Voliro AG has announced the opening of its first flight center in North America. According to a LinkedIn post, the Voliro Flight Center is located in Cochrane in the Canadian province of Alberta and will be operated by the company Osprey Integrity Ltd. Under the leadership of CEO Courtland Penk, the Canadian company can now carry out proof-of-concept demos on site, with the aim of showcasing the capabilities of the Voliro T for investors and inspection service providers.

In addition, the Osprey team will be able to train Voliro T pilots to the highest level. According to Osprey, the first internally trained class of Voliro T operators has now completed their training, which focused on how to maintain professional control of the system across a range of increasingly complex scenarios.

The Voliro T drone developed by Voliro boasts extraordinary freedom of movement, with the ability to freely change position and touch objects at any angle, as the company explains in a press release. With this “unique drone,” as Voliro describes its innovative development, it is possible to further expand non-destructive testing activities.

Voliro is a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and a project of Wyss Zurich, a joint accelerator program of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. ce/gba
