Bern/Stettlen - SWISS USAccelerator became independent at the start of February. The program for establishing Swiss companies in North America was developed within the ZID Bernapark (Centre for Innovation and Digitalization). Its founder Kaspar Zimmerli has now taken it over as an independent entity.

SWISS USAccelerator will continue its development outside ZID Bernapark AG. The Management Board of the Stettlen-based innovation center has decided that the program for establishing Swiss companies in North America will in future be independently run by its founder, Kaspar Zimmerli. In a press release, Zimmerli expresses his gratitude to the ZID Bernapark for its confidence in the program and assistance in getting it off the ground.

SWISS USAccelerator helps Swiss companies gain a foothold in Switzerland’s largest export market. As part of the ZID Bernapark, it has already assisted over 15 companies in finding the right partners in the U.S., and has successfully integrated six start-ups in the USA Launching Pad, a San Francisco-based service that helps foreign companies establish themselves.

Kaspar Zimmerli is being supported by a board, which comprises Sophie Cerny, Deputy CEO of Switzerland Innovation (the umbrella foundation of the Switzerland Innovation Parks), Michael Sauter, Head of Entrepreneurship at the ZID Bernapark, and medtech entrepreneur Heiko Visarius. ce/stk
