Sion - CleantechAlps and the innovation foundation The Ark are organizing a pitch contest for start-ups active in the field of smart energy consumption during the Smart Energy Events. Interested start-ups can apply to take part in the competition up to June 7. Three awards, each of which comes with prize money totaling 5,000 Swiss francs, are on offer for the victorious start-ups.

CleantechAlps, the cluster of cleantech companies in Western Switzerland, and The Ark, a foundation for innovation in the canton of Valais, are organizing the second pitch contest for smart energy start-ups. The competition will take place on August 30 as part of the Smart Energy Events at the Energypolis Campus in Sion in the canton of Valais, as the event organizers write in a press release. Any start-ups interested in taking part have until June 7 to submit an online application.

The organizers are looking for start-ups founded after 2014 that are active in the energy sector. A jury will be tasked with forming a long list of the start-ups that will ultimately take part in the competition. At the pitch contest itself, the start-ups will compete against each other for prizes in the categories of Best Idea and Best Short Presentation, in addition to a public choice award. All three awards come with prize money of 5,000 Swiss francs each. The competition also offers participants “a unique opportunity to present your business in the best light and meet key industry stakeholders”, according to the organizers. ce/hs
