Winterthur - PAWI is acquiring the Warsaw-based packaging plant Printmax. As well as getting the packaging manufacturer from Winterthur into the Polish market, the acquisition is intended to expand the product range to include refined folding cartons. The company also wants to strengthen its international competitive position.

The PAWI Group has acquired the Warsaw-based packaging plant from the packaging manufacturer Printmax, according to a statement. With its market entry in Poland, the Winterthur-based food packaging specialist intends to expand its product range to include refined folding cartons. This will make PAWI an important supplier, especially in the growing non-food market, it writes.

For PAWI, the acquisition is its third packaging plant. The plant will employ 80 people, while 370 employees in total will work for the packaging manufacturer at three locations after the takeover.

Printmax manufactures high-quality cardboard packaging for the cosmetics, near-pharmaceutical and luxury goods sectors. For 20 years, the Warsaw plant has focused on the high-end finishing of folding cartons using offset printing as well as hot stamping, cold foil printing and special laminations. ce/heg
