Zurich Airport connects to Shanghai, Seoul, and Hong Kong

According to a press release from Flughafen Zürich AG, Zurich Airport will again offer direct flights to Shanghai and Seoul when it changes to the summer flight plan. The route to Shanghai will be operated three times a week by Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss). Korean Air will also fly three times a week from Zurich to Seoul. Additionally, Cathay Pacific will increase its route between Zurich and Hong Kong from two to three flights at the end of June.
The airlines Swiss, Edelweiss, and Chair based in Kloten in the canton of Zurich are also expanding their offerings with the change to the summer flight plan. Among other routes, Chair will be operating a connection to Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands from April 7. Edelweiss will add Akureyri in Iceland to its program in midsummer.
After a three-year hiatus, Cyprus Airways will once again provide a link between Zurich and Larnaca. Other airlines will be flying to European holiday destinations such as Ibiza or Naples during the summer holidays. For long-haul destinations, Ethiopian Airlines, Saudia, and Qatar Airways are also increasing their flights to Addis Ababa, Riyadh, and Doha.
The summer flight plan 2023 from Zurich contains a total of 187 destinations in 71 countries. It is served by 60 airlines. This means that Zurich Airport will be covering 95 percent of the destinations it flew to in 2019 once more according to the airport operator. hs
